EVO3 Ultimate Short Shifter for E30/E36/E46 318, 320, 323, 325 (all models 6/1986+ except iX/Xi)

I have a 1988 BMW E30 325iS. 5-SPEED, LSD, ETC. Its a very fun and lively car to drive, but the factory worn out bushings were taking away a lot of the joy from shifting gears. The throw was so long it felt like I was fighting against the transmission, and didnt feel confident in which gear the car was in.

Even when not shifting, the car feels faster and more confident, simply because you dont have to change anything about your body position to shift gears. Less vibrations coming from gear stick. Faster Shifts. Before I was getting locked out of 2nd gear, and would have trouble getting it into 3rd on a high RPM shift. This shifter is the best $ you could spend. This is my second purchase of the EVO3 Short Shifter. This time, it will be fitted in my 325i restoration project car. Great product and feels smooth once installed.

I'm not giving this a five star as I rarely give a "A" grade to anything. On my 2001 325ci the new kit restored the "new" feel to the shifter (almost feels as good as a manual shift accord which I think has a stellar feel) and as promised greatly reduced the through making gear changes a bit quicker for spirited driving. It also in my opinion makes finding the gears (the feel) 35-40% easier. One other benefit is you can now have a drive in the forward cup holder without fear of bashing it during a hard shift to second gear (yes, some of us do have a cup of coffee in the morning and may do a bit of spirited driving on the way to work).

Well, what to say? My car never feel so great! Gear shift even better that if it was new! It feels like precise mechanism, like a rally car but with comfort from bmw. This kit costs each penny. In addition to dssr and ssk I would suggest you to change also some other bushings and rings in your gear change mechanism (as I did) in order to get sensation of absolutely new car.

This shifter is absolutely flawless. If you simply want the best, most accurate and most solid shifts you must by this short shifter. The throw is reduced substantially and the feel of the shifts is just so solid. The installation was not overhelehiming either. Give yourself about a two hour window and you should be fine. Getting the pin through the carrier and back into its placement to be locked in above the transmission is a bit tricky. I suggest finding any hard object you can to get leverage. Over all this product is unbelievable. An absolute must buy for any BMW owner who truly loves driving

I have had the UUC ssk for over 2 years now, and I am extremely pleased with it! It has a great feel and is very smooth for a short shift kit. It has smoothed out over time - not that it was bad to begin with - and has a very solid feel to the shifts. It is also and extremely well made product. I also installed the kit with the DSSR. I can't tell you if there was a difference with it as opposed to without it, but it is much more heavy duty than the stock selector rod.

ANYONE looking to upgrade their E-30 3-series simply must buy and install this kit. Your original bushings are most likely dead by now. Don't fool around! This kit does not fit, it's engineered to IMPROVE your car. You'd spend more to get the stock bushings and install them, compared to the vast improvement that this kit will bring you for less. Just completed installation of the UUC shorty shifter and DSSR on my 325 Ci .Man O Man this unit should come from the factory. Installation was a snap. These guys have their stuff together!Everty thing is tight and true and the action is alot less than the factory shifter with firmer shifts. Thanks UUC for another super product!

The UUC SSK is a MUST HAVE mod for any car/BMW enthusiast. BMW dropped the ball when it came to the shifting on their manual trannies, and UUC remedies that by offering the most precise and best feeling short shift kit available for a BMW. Forget "eyebrows" or tinting your windows, get an SSK.

Took some getting use to... about 30 minutes. Will never go back to my original shifter. This UUC short shifter makes it a lot more fun to drive. It's smooth and precise. I feel like speed racer.
